This recipe for Air Fryer Baked Potatoes combines Russet potatoes, olive oil, and salt to make the best side dish! Potatoes are one of my favorite foods, so I’m always looking for new ways to make them. And this recipe is easy enough to make any night, for any meal.

Air Fried Baked Potatoes
This easy baked potatoes recipe utilizes 3 simple ingredients and your air fryer for a delicious result. It has become one of my go-to recipes on busy weeknights.
I sometimes add seasoning blends to the potatoes depending on what we’re eating them with. I have a variety of homemade options like Italian seasoning , Creole seasoning , and chili seasoning . They each add just a touch more flavor.
Ingredients1x2x3x
- ▢ 4 Russet potatoes
- ▢ 1 tablespoon olive oil
- ▢ 2 teaspoons kosher salt
Optional Toppings
- ▢ butter
- ▢ sour cream
- ▢ shredded cheese
- ▢ chopped cooked bacon
- ▢ chili
- ▢ sliced green onion

Instructions
- Wash the Russet potatoes well and pat them dry. Poke each potato a few times (at least 5 times) with a fork. 4 Russet potatoes
- Rub the potatoes on all sides with olive oil and sprinkle them with kosher salt. 1 tablespoon olive oil, 2 teaspoons kosher salt
- Place the potatoes in the air fryer and cook them at 400°F for 20 minutes. Flip the potatoes and cook for an additional 20-25 minutes, or until the potatoes are fork tender.
- Slice and serve with your favorite toppings. sour cream, shredded cheese, chopped cooked bacon, chili, sliced green onion, butter

Becky’s Tips
- Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket. Cook in batches if needed. Otherwise, you’ll end up with soggy potatoes.
- Test for doneness by inserting a knife into the center of a potato. If it pierces easily, they are done; if not, they need more time.

How to Make Air Fryer Baked Potatoes Step by Step

Prepare the potatoes: Wash 4 Russet potatoes well and pat them dry. Poke each potato a few times (at least 5 times) with a fork.

Season the potatoes : Rub the potatoes on all sides with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and sprinkle them with 2 teaspoons of kosher salt.
Cook the potatoes: Place the potatoes in the air fryer and cook them at 400°F for 20 minutes. Flip the potatoes and cook for an additional 20-25 minutes, or until the potatoes are fork tender.

Slice and serve : Slice and serve with sour cream, shredded cheese, chopped cooked bacon, chili, sliced green onions, or butter.
How to Store
Store leftover air fryer baked potatoes in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in a 400°F air fryer for 4-5 minutes or in a 350°F oven for 15-20 minutes.
Freeze air fryer baked potatoes wrapped in 2 layers of plastic wrap and 1 layer of aluminum foil for up to 6 months. Let thaw overnight in the refrigerator before reheating.
Serving Suggestions
Cooking baked potatoes in the air fryer frees up time and space for your main dish, and pairs well with grilled chicken breast , set it and forget it Crockpot beef tenderloin , or even an everyday Instant Pot meatloaf . Add a dollop of cowboy butter for a quick flavor upgrade!

It’s better to stock up on things like grains, seasonings and spices, baking essentials, oils, condiments, canned and frozen foods, etc. so I can just grab them when I need them. These things have a long shelf life , so I keep them in my kitchen for convenience.
