Easy Air Fryer Shrimp With Garlic
This easy and delicious garlic shrimp is my go-to for a simple and flavorful weeknight meal. I had leftover shrimp lingering in the fridge, and I wanted to make something that came together quickly but was still loaded with flavor. So voila, air fryer shrimp with garlic. This dish can work as a main or an appetizer; I find the simple and bold flavors from the seasoning work well with the tender, air-fried shrimp. I’ve added this seafood recipe to my weekly meal plan, knowing everyone at the dinner table will be thrilled.
Tips for Beginners
- Any shrimp works. I used medium-sized peeled and deveined shrimp; if you use larger or smaller shrimp, you may need to adjust the cooking time by 1-2 minutes. If you use shrimp with the shells on, you may also need to add 1-2 minutes to the final cook time. If using frozen, add 2-3 minutes to the cook time.
- To test for doneness. Raw shrimp is translucent gray in color. Cooked shrimp is an opaque white color with some pink and bright red accents, and should measure 120°F internally when using an instant-read thermometer.
- Change up the flavor. Add ½ cup Parmesan cheese, 1 tablespoon of Italian seasoning , combine 2 tablespoons sriracha, 1½ tablespoons soy sauce, and the juice of ½ a lime, and add to the shrimp, or drizzle the shrimp with the juice of one lemon.

- Place the shrimp in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Try not to overcrowd the shrimp or they won’t crisp up evenly.

There really aren’t any sides I wouldn’t pair this shrimp with, but I really love the texture of these crispy cottage fries in contrast to the tender shrimp. For even more of a garlic hit, I’ll make this simple garlic rice , and for veggies, I like these savory sauteed mushrooms .
