Slow Cooker Ranch Chicken
I absolutely love how this Crockpot Ranch Chicken makes dinner so easy and flavorful with almost zero effort. Just a few simple ingredients—ranch seasoning, chicken, and a creamy sauce—come together in the slow cooker to create tender, juicy chicken that’s perfect for busy nights. It’s one of my go-to recipes when I want a comforting meal without spending hours in the kitchen, and it’s great for serving over rice, pasta, or even in sandwiches.
I love preparing this ranch chicken as is, but sometimes I jazz it up a bit by adding some crumbled bacon or melting shredded cheddar cheese over top! A sprinkle of chopped fresh chives is also delicious!
Tips for Beginners
- Substitute 1½ tablespoons of ranch dressing in place of the dry ranch seasoning.
- I do not recommend cooking chicken from frozen in the crockpot, as it can spend too long in the “temperature danger zone, which can lead to food poisoning.
- If your chicken is tough, it is either undercooked or overcooked. To figure out which it is, you’ll need an instant-read thermometer. If the chicken is under 165°F, it is undercooked. If it is over 165°F, it is overcooked.
- Shred the chicken and add it to tacos or other recipes that call for shredded chicken, if desired.
