Single-serve Tiramisu Cups Recipe

My individual tiramisu cups is a perfect solution if making traditional tiramisu feels overwhelming. This easy dessert doesn’t call for eggs or soaking of lady fingers. It’s super simple to make with Nilla wafers. I assemble this in about 7 minutes and clean up is even quicker. This is the perfect dessert for small gatherings or summer parties!

Ingredients1x2x3x

  • ▢ 16 ounces mascarpone cheese 454 grams
  • ▢ ⅓ cup granulated sugar 67 grams
  • ▢ ¼ cup 2% milk 57 grams
  • ▢ ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder 21 grams
  • ▢ 36 Nabisco Nilla Wafers 135 grams
  • ▢ ½ cup strongly brewed coffee 114 grams

Instructions

  • In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment, beat together the mascarpone cheese, sugar, and milk until fluffy. If necessary, add more milk (1 tablespoon at a time) to make the consistency as creamy as you want. Set aside. 16 ounces mascarpone cheese, ⅓ cup granulated sugar, ¼ cup 2% milk
  • Using a piping bag or a Ziplock bag with the corner cut off, pipe the bottom layer of the mascarpone mixture into the bottom of 4 small glass cups.
  • Use a fine mesh sieve to sprinkle a dash of cocoa powder on top. ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • Dip the Nilla wafers in the coffee and layer 3 at a time into each cup. 36 Nabisco Nilla Wafers, ½ cup strongly brewed coffee
  • Top with more of the cream layer, then more cocoa. Repeat one more time (3 layers of each per cup).
  • Top with more cocoa powder and a Nilla wafer for garnish. Enjoy!

Equipment

  • Kitchen Scale (optional)
  • Stand Mixer
  • Piping Tip Set (optional)
  • Fine Mesh Sieve

Becky’s Tips

  • Use any kind of cocoa powder you want (natural or Dutch-process).
  • Crème fraîche or whipped ricotta cheese can be alternatives to mascarpone cheese.
  • Use room temperature mascarpone cheese to avoid lumps in the cream cheese mixture.
  • Use ladyfingers if available, I use Nilla wafer as an substitute.

How to Store

Refrigerate any leftover tiramisu cups for up to 2 days. Cover them with plastic wrap to prevent them from drying out.

You can also make them 2-3 days in advance. Prepare the cream cheese mixture and refrigerate. When ready, soak in coffee and assemble the layers.

Essential Grocery List

It’s so helpful to have a basic grocery list to help me remember which foods to buy at the store. This food shopping list is my go-to!

It’s better to stock up on things like grains, seasonings and spices, baking essentials, oils, condiments, canned and frozen foods, etc. so I can just grab them when I need them. These things have a long shelf life , so I keep them in my kitchen for convenience.

However, I do have to go to the supermarket sometimes, and there’s a way to make that trip easy and hassle-free: I keep a grocery list! If I go in blindly, I’ll leave with things I don’t need, and nothing that actually helps me prepare a good meal.

In the list below, I’ve compiled everything I always have on my stock-up grocery list.

I’ve got you covered! I created an easy grocery list filled with all of the essentials. Plus there’s a free printable version that you can take with you to the grocery store. It has everything you need to stock your pantry, your freezer, and your refrigerator.
