You won’t catch me eating French fries without a flavorful dipping sauce. This fry sauce is so quick to put together, and it’s so tasty. Made with mayonnaise, ketchup, Buffalo sauce, pickle juice, Worcestershire, and spices, this creamy French fry dipping sauce packs a punch! I love that it only takes 5 minutes to throw together, and it’s so good I’m dipping more than just fries!

Fry Sauce Recipe

I’ve always believed that a good dipping sauce can elevate any meal, and this fry sauce has become a staple in my kitchen. It’s creamy, tangy, and has just the right kick to make every bite more exciting. Whether I’m serving it with crispy homemade fries, drizzling it over burgers, or using it as a dip for veggies, this sauce never fails to impress. The best part? It comes together in minutes with ingredients I usually have on hand. It’s my go-to for adding a burst of flavor to everyday dishes.​

  • ▢ 2¼ cups mayonnaise use real mayonnaise for the best flavor
  • ▢ ½ cup ketchup
  • ▢ 1 tablespoon Buffalo sauce such as Frank’s RedHot
  • ▢ 1 tablespoon pickle juice sweet or dill
  • ▢ 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • ▢ ¼ teaspoon ancho chili powder
  • ▢ ½ teaspoon seasoned salt such as Lawry’s
  • ▢ ¼ teaspoon ground paprika

Becky’s Tips

  • Yield: This sauce recipe makes about 2 ¾ cups. A serving is 2 tablespoons.
  • For a chunkier texture, try adding some pickle relish.
  • For a healthier option, swap some or all of the mayo for Greek yogurt.
  • When I have fresh herbs on hand, I like to mince some up and add them to the sauce for a little extra flavor.

How to Make Fry Sauce Step by Step

Combine all the ingredients: Combine 2¼ cups mayonnaise, ½ cup ketchup, 1 tablespoon Buffalo sauce such as Frank’s RedHot, 1 tablespoon pickle juice, sweet or dill, 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce, ¼ teaspoon ancho chili powder, ½ teaspoon seasoned salt such as Lawry’s, and ¼ teaspoon ground paprika.

How to Store

Fry sauce keeps well covered in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. I always recommend giving it a little stir before serving.

Serving Suggestions

This tasty and versatile fry sauce takes these homemade French fries to the next level. But it also tastes great on our super-thin 3-Ingredient Shoestring Fries or our quick-to-prepare Air Fryer French Fries. I also love to dip my baked Sweet Potato Fries for the delicious contrast in flavors.

Essential Grocery List

It’s so helpful to have a basic grocery list to help me remember which foods to buy at the store. This food shopping list is my go-to!

It’s better to stock up on things like grains, seasonings and spices, baking essentials, oils, condiments, canned and frozen foods, etc. so I can just grab them when I need them. These things have a long shelf life , so I keep them in my kitchen for convenience.

However, I do have to go to the supermarket sometimes, and there’s a way to make that trip easy and hassle-free: I keep a grocery list! If I go in blindly, I’ll leave with things I don’t need, and nothing that actually helps me prepare a good meal.
