Homemade Buffalo Sauce Recipe
Homemade Buffalo Sauce is the best way to make Buffalo wings at home. I developed this 15-minute Buffalo sauce recipe to be super simple. I can easily whip up a batch before I get the Buffalo wings going. This easy homemade Buffalo sauce is spicy, tangy, and ready in minutes—perfect for wings, dips, and more!
Ingredients1x2x3x
- ▢ 4 tbsp unsalted butter (½ stick)
- ▢ ½ cup Frank’s RedHot Sauce
- ▢ 1 tbsp Tabasco sauce optional
- ▢ 2 tbsp dark brown sugar maple syrup or agave work well too
- ▢ 2 tsp apple cider vinegar

How to Make Homemade Buffalo Sauce Step by Step

Combine and heat: In a small saucepan, melt 4 tbsp (½ stick) of unsalted butter over low heat. Add ½ cup of Frank’s RedHot Sauce, 1 tbsp of Tabasco sauce, 2 tbsp of dark brown sugar, and 2 tsp of apple cider vinegar and whisk until combined. Remove from heat and set aside until ready to use.

Serve and enjoy: Serve with wings, veggies, use it as a dipping sauce for just about any appetizer you can dream of, or as a spread for sandwiches!
How to Store
This homemade Buffalo sauce recipe should be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator. It will keep well for up to 1 week. Simply reheat in a saucepan set over low heat.
Freeze in an airtight container (you can separate it into individual portions) for up to 6 months. Toss into a hot pan to melt, or let larger portions thaw overnight in the refrigerator before using.

It’s better to stock up on things like grains, seasonings and spices, baking essentials, oils, condiments, canned and frozen foods, etc. so I can just grab them when I need them. These things have a long shelf life , so I keep them in my kitchen for convenience.
However, I do have to go to the supermarket sometimes, and there’s a way to make that trip easy and hassle-free: I keep a grocery list! If I go in blindly, I’ll leave with things I don’t need, and nothing that actually helps me prepare a good meal.
