Yes. While it won’t taste as strong, you can use your favorite kind of coffee (or even cold brew) depending on what you enjoy and have on hand.

Any dairy-free or regular milk works great! I love using almond milk (plain or vanilla) because it froths really well! I’ve also had success with oat milk (results in a thicker consistency), cashew milk, and regular milk.

Yes! For a completely vegan flat white, replace the honey with pure maple syrup.

It sure is! If your go-to Starbucks order is the Honey Almondmilk Flat White, this copycat recipe will quickly become your go-to.

If you love the classic flat white from Starbucks, give this honey almond version a try. Pair it with fluffy croissants , egg bites , or a slice of honey cake or almond cake !

Tips!

  • If using the microwave to heat the milk, watch it closely as it can quickly overheat and splatter.
  • For even more flavor, add a caramel or chocolate syrup drizzle on top.
  • This recipe can be easily doubled!

Ingredients1x2x3x

  • ▢ 1 shot espresso or strongly brewed coffee
  • ▢ 2 teaspoons honey
  • ▢ ½ cup almond milk
  • ▢ Cinnamon for garnish

Instructions

  • Add the espresso and honey to your desired mug and stir to combine. 1 shot espresso, 2 teaspoons honey
  • Froth the almond milk. See recipe notes for various frothing methods. Pour frothed almond milk over the espresso, garnish with a pinch of cinnamon, and serve immediately. ½ cup almond milk, Cinnamon

Becky’s Tips

  • How to Froth Almond Milk: If using a milk frother , add the almond milk to the frother and heat according to the manufacturer’s instructions. To froth the milk using the microwave or stovetop , heat the milk for 1 minute in the microwave or just until it starts to steam on the stovetop. Carefully transfer the milk to a mason jar and shake for 45 seconds, or until the milk has formed a thick froth. Be careful – the milk will be hot! Make sure to fully secure the lid and wrap the mason jar in a towel, if needed.
  • Espresso: I recommend using a smooth or blonde roast espresso – avoid anything too dark as it will overpower the honey.
  • Cinnamon: While completely optional, I love garnishing this drink with a pinch of cinnamon on top!
