An iced chai tea latte is the perfect drink for those last days of summer leading into fall. It always kickstarts the holiday season for me while still keeping me cool and giving me that caffeine fix I so desperately need. It takes just a few minutes to whip up an iced chai with just 3 simple ingredients. This is my favorite drink to sip on while apple picking in early September!

You know that I love my coffee, but sometimes I like to mix things up with a chai latte . I love the warming and sweet flavors of all of those spices. This iced chai latte is a great way to cool down and wake up, and it’s so easy to make at home with a tea bag, milk, and a little bit of sugar.

What’s in This Iced Chai Tea Latte Recipe?

  • Chai Tea: You’ll just need 1 tea bag or about 2 teaspoons of loose tea. If using loose tea, I recommend placing it in a tea strainer so you don’t end up with bits of tea leaves in your latte.
  • Sugar: Granulated sugar adds a touch of sweetness to the drink. I used just a hint, but you can use more if you prefer a sweeter drink or leave it out completely.
  • Milk: Most milks work really well in this iced chai tea latte recipe. Dairy milks will give it a creamier and richer flavor, but you can use almond, soy, or oat milk to keep this dairy-free.

Tips for Success

  • You can make this into a warm drink by simply adding the milk to the chai tea when it is still warm, and skipping the ice.
  • If you prefer, you can substitute the granulated sweetener for honey or maple syrup.
  • Make this iced chai tea latte when you are ready to drink it. If made too far ahead of time, the ice will melt and dilute the drink.
