How to make hamburgers in an Instant Pot
You can jump to the recipe card for full ingredients & instructions!
- Mix together the ingredients for the burgers.
- Shape into four patties.
- Wrap each patty tightly in foil.
- Add water to the Instant Pot and place the burgers on a trivet.
- Cook on high pressure and quick release.
- Top with cheese slices if using and place into buns with your favorite toppings.

These burgers are best served as soon as they are cooked, but you can make up the burger mix up to a day ahead of time and keep it covered in the fridge. Cooked hamburgers will keep well in the fridge for 4 days and can be reheated in the oven.
Any other ground meats like bison, chicken or turkey can be used in this recipe. It’s best not to use extra lean meats. If using chicken or turkey, use and instant read thermometer to check that your burgers are cooked through.
Absolutley! You can double or even triple this burger recipe! It’s totally fine to stack the burgers in the Instant Pot, so they are a great option if you are feeding a crowd!
Standard burger buns work great, but I love to use brioche buns for a bit of extra flavor and touch of sweetness. For a low carb dinner, they work great in lettuce wraps.
