I’ve taken these Nachos Supreme and loaded them with ground beef, refried beans, guacamole, jalapeño, pico de gallo, lots of cheese, and plenty more. I love this homemade recipe as it’s way better than Taco Bell, and super easy to make. I just load all the ingredients onto some tortilla chips and bake until they’re bubbling and hot. I love serving these for Cinco de Mayo and game day, and they always get devoured in minutes.

Easy Nachos Supreme Recipe
Just like the Taco Bell classic (but better), I’ve loaded up these nachos with seasoned beef, cheese, sour cream, guacamole, pico de gallo, and refried beans. What I end up with is a pile of crispy chips, gooey cheese, and hearty beef and beans that’s topped with cool and refreshing toppings for the ultimate combination of flavors and textures.
If this isn’t the ideal snack for game day, Cinco De Mayo, or family game night, I don’t know what it is. With so many ways to change it up, I never get tired of these nachos.
Tips for Beginners
- Hearty chips. Flour or corn chips both work well, just make sure they are hearty enough to support the toppings.
- Swap the cheese . I like regular cheese to lighten these nachos up a bit, but to really get that fast-food flavor, you can use nacho cheese sauce or add a sprinkle of cotija cheese for authentic Mexican flavor.
- Change up the beef. I like to use beef, but I’ll use ground or shredded chicken , pork, or even turkey depending on what’s in my fridge.
- For a different twist . Sometimes I’ll swap the salsa for avocado corn salsa or salsa verde , which gives the nachos a different flavor profile.

How to Make Nachos Supreme Step by Step
Cook the beef and preheat the oven: Add 1 lb. beef, ½ an onion, and 3 tbsp taco seasoning to a skillet set over medium heat . Brown the meat and then drain the grease from the skillet. Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Spread half the tortilla chips out on a large baking sheet.

Spoon half the ground beef over the chips.

Stir one 16 oz. can refried beans, and spoon half the can over the chips in dollops.

Layer and bake: Sprinkle half of the cheese over the chips, beef, and beans. Layer the remaining tortilla chips over top and then create another layer of ground beef, beans, and cheese.
Bake for 15-20 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Top with ⅓ cup jalapeños, ½ cup guacamole, ½ cup pico de gallo, and 3 green onions.

Serve: Serve with sour cream and cilantro. Enjoy!
How to Store
While I highly recommend enjoying nachos supreme fresh out of the oven, they will keep well for about 1 day in the refrigerator before becoming too soggy. Gently reheat in a 350°F oven until the cheese has melted and the meat is warmed through.
Serving Suggestions
These nachos are a great appetizer to munch on before chicken quesadillas or kid-favorite chicken tacos . They pair just as well with Taco Bell–inspired favorites like homemade crunchwraps or birria tacos .
