I’m definitely a fan of combining cocktails and dessert, so I’ve always loved a good frozen mudslide . I wanted to put a Christmas twist on it by adding lots of peppermint flavor, and boy did it turn out well! This peppermint mocha mudslide comes together so fast, with just a few ingredients and a blender.

Ingredients for Peppermint Mocha Mudslide

  • Ice Cream: Vanilla ice cream is the base of this boozy milkshake.
  • Peppermint Vodka: Smirnoff does a really nice peppermint vodka that works great. Creme de menthe can also be used, but it is much sweeter.
  • Irish Cream : This creamy liqueur adds a rich, warm flavor.
  • Kahlua: Coffee liqueur intensifies the mocha flavor, and adds more depth.
  • Peppermints: I love using King Leo crushed peppermints. Or, try crushed candy canes instead – place a few candy canes in a zip-top bag and smash them with a rolling pin.
  • Chocolate Syrup : This is used to coat the glasses, and slowly mixes into the drink as you go.

Tips for Success

  • For even more peppermint flavor, I use all peppermint ice cream or half peppermint/half vanilla ice cream.
  • Dairy-free ice cream works here too, so if you’re lactose intolerant, you can still enjoy these peppermint mudslides!
  • These cocktails are best served as soon as they’re made so that the ice cream doesn’t get warm.

Serving Suggestions

I top off every one of these peppermint mudslides with tons of whipped cream , chocolate syrup, and extra peppermints. Sometimes I add a drizzle of caramel to add another layer of flavor, and it is so yummy!
