Variations on Air Fried Chickpeas

The included recipe is just one idea for how to season these crispy chickpeas. Feel free to get creative and use your favorite seasoning blends , like Creole seasoning , ranch , chili seasoning , everything bagel seasoning , Italian seasoning , or taco seasoning .

You can also make these chickpeas sweet by tossing them with a little bit of brown sugar and cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice . I recommend using vegetable oil or coconut oil for sweet chickpeas instead of olive oil.

How to Store

Store leftover air fryer chickpeas in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week. I do not recommend freezing them.

Serving Suggestions

Serve these tasty chickpeas drizzled with a delicious sauce, like yum yum sauce , garlic aioli , balsamic glaze , fry sauce , honey mustard , ranch , Buffalo sauce , or sweet and sour sauce .

They’re also great added to Italian pasta salad , Panzanella , chicken salad , or a chopped salad for a nice crunch!

Yes! They are simply different terms that refer to the same thing!

Yes, but you’ll need to cook them beforehand!

Yes! Chickpeas are high in fiber and protein and can help regulate blood sugar levels.

Cooked chickpeas contain moisture, so they will sometimes pop in the air fryer as that moisture escapes. This is totally normal; just be careful when you shake them!

If your chickpeas are too moist or coated in too much oil, they may not turn out crispy. I recommend patting the chickpeas dry after draining them and making sure not to use too much oil to ensure crisp chickpeas.
