How To Make Taco Pizza Step by Step
Preheat the oven and prepare the refried beans : Preheat the oven to 500°F. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine 16 oz. of refried beans, 1 oz. of taco seasoning, and half of the taco sauce. Gently warm the refried bean mixture in the microwave to make it easier to spread on the dough.

Roll out the dough: Sprinkle flour on your countertop and stretch and roll 16 oz. of pizza dough into a 12-inch circle. Transfer to a pizza pan or sheet pan.

Build the pizza: Spread the refried bean mixture evenly over the dough.

Drizzle on the remaining taco sauce.

Top the pizza with ¾ of the cheese, ½ cup of tomatoes, ½ cup of bell peppers, and ¼ cup of olives. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top.
Bake : Bake the pizza for 10-15 minutes until the cheese is melted and the crust is brown.

Serve and top: Top with dollops of sour cream, green onions, and cilantro if desired. Slice and serve!
Variations on Homemade Taco Pizza
You can customize this easy taco pizza in so many ways:
- Spicy: Add thin jalapeño slices to the top of the pizza before or after cooking for a bit of heat.
- Crisp and crunchy: Add fresh pico de gallo , chopped fresh romaine lettuce, and crushed tortilla chips for a crisp, crunchy texture.
- Meaty: Add cooked Mexican chorizo or cooked ground beef with taco seasoning as a topping for a meat-lovers version of this homemade Taco Pizza recipe. This is also a great way to use up leftover taco meat by incorporating it as a topping on the pizza.
How to Store
If you plan to prepare taco pizza ahead of time, I recommend waiting until just before serving before adding the lettuce, tomato, and cheese to prevent sogginess.
Store leftover taco pizza in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat in a 350°F oven for 5-7 minutes, in the microwave, or in a skillet on the stovetop until warmed through.
Freeze taco pizza slices in a single layer on a lined baking sheet until solid, about 1-2 hours. Transfer the frozen pizza slices to an airtight container or Ziplock bag to store for up to 3 months. Let thaw overnight in the refrigerator before reheating.

Serving Suggestions
This meal is perfect for serving alongside a variety of Mexican side dishes. Some of my favorites include cornbread salad , or if I am looking for something a little more filling, these hearty Mexican stuffed peppers hit the spot. Of course, no taco pizza is complete without a dollop of guacamole ! For dessert, I like to make churro cheesecake for dessert.
